Ashooh makes it official in 1st CD GOP Primary
Bedford businessman says he's focused on Democrats' deficit spending

Surrounded by family and supporters, businessman Rich Ashooh made his run for Congress official today. The Bedford Republican filed the necessary paperwork with the Secretary of State’s office for New Hampshire’s 1st Congressional District GOP primary that will be held in September.

Four months on the campaign trail have reinforced Ashooh’s view that voters are anxious about the direction the country is headed and that new
leadership is needed in Washington. He offered his business background with the state’s largest manufacturer, dedication to civic engagement, national security expertise, and history of working to reduce the deficit as the things that set him apart in the current GOP field.

Ashooh said, “I’m running for Congress because like a lot of other Granite Staters, I’ve simply had enough. The Democrats have run up a record-setting 19 straight months of deficit spending. Never before in the history of our country – not during The Great Depression or during World War II – has deficit spending been that high or gone on that long.”

“The 2010 election needs to be a referendum on balancing the federal budget. We must get the Democrats’ reckless spending under control so we can pass on to our children and grandchildren the same strong America that our parents gave to us. If the First District voters send me to Washington, eliminating deficit spending and paying down the Democrats’ $13 trillion dollar national debt will be among my highest priorities,” he added.
